In The Forest Of The Night
Episode 10/12
25/10/14
Before I give my review I would like to apologise for not posting in a few days its been a bit hectic. (By the way if there is anything anyone would want me to do a post on don't be afraid to let me know!) :)
Out of all of Series 8 so far this has probably been the one I disliked the most as I don't really like episodes that are full of kids as I find it cheesy, although there was one girl in the show, Ruby, who caught my attention I thought she was fabulous. *Spoilers alert* if you haven't watched it yet the story is about a forest that literally grows world wide over night. I think the trailer for this episode was quite misleading because admittedly I thought it was going to be a spin on Little Red Riding Hood as in the trailer all it really showed was a little girl in a red coat running from a wolf. Anyway the main protagonist is a little girl called Maebve who wanders away from Mr. Pink's group and she finds the Doctor but then she wanders away from The Doctor because her sister went missing last year and she hears voices in her head which are controlled by medication. Throughout the whole duration of Maebve running away it looks as if she is flicking away flies or something and Mr. Pink mistakes this for a nervous tick it turns out that they are voices and when The Doctor points his sonic screwdriver at them he can see them. Going back a bit as I've skipped an important part out, earlier on The Doctor finds the children's homework books in the T.A.R.D.I.S and Maebve drew a picture of the sun but with solar flares coming out of it and therefore leading to the end of the world (which is just normal every day in Doctor Who) so when everyone thinks the world is going to end The Doctor realises that this kind of thing has happened before all the way back in 1908 and some time after that too but the human race had forgotten about it. Anyway long story short when the solar flares come to destroy the earth the excess oxygen from the trees protects the earth and everyone survives, yaaay! overall though I would only rate this episode about a 6/10 because it wasn't that interesting, I don't like children based episodes and the trailer was misleading. I do however look forward to next weeks as it looks very action packed.
